Early life and education
Oliver Quick was born on 21 June 1885 in Sedbergh, Yorkshire, the son of the educationist Robert Hebert Quick and Bertha Parr.Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Footnotes/anchor_id_list' not found. Ecclesiastical and academic career
Quick was ordained to the diaconate in 1911Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Footnotes/anchor_id_list' not found. and to the priesthood in 1912.[citation needed] Prior to becoming chaplain to the Archbishop of Canterbury in 1915, he was a vice-principal of Leeds Clergy School and then a curate at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London.Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'Module:Footnotes/anchor_id_list' not found. He followed systematic and synthetic rather than historical methods and expressed his thought in a modern way.
