Template:Short description Lua error in Module:Infobox_gene at line 53: attempt to index field 'wikibase' (a nil value). Statherin is a protein in humans that is encoded by the STATH gene.[1][2] It prevents the precipitation of calcium phosphate in saliva, maintaining a high calcium level in saliva available for remineralisation of tooth enamel and high phosphate levels for buffering.[3]
