Halichoeres are a genus of wrasses found in the Atlantic, Indian and Pacific Oceans.[3]

Taxonomy

Molecular phylogenetic studies have repeatedly found the genus Halichoeres to be polyphyletic. As a result, this genus requires significant taxonomic revision.[4]
