Spirulida

Spirulida is an order of cephalopods comprising one extant species (Spirula spirula) and several extinct taxa.

Fossil record

  • Oldest representative: Carboniferous, though contested: see Shimanskya
  • Oldest uncontested representative: Late Jurassic[1]
